The significance of the project: 

The Belgrade–South Adriatic Highway represents a connection between Serbia and Montenegro, specifically linking Belgrade with the South Adriatic coast. In a broader context, it will connect Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, and Italy. The E-763 Highway, known as Corridor 11, extends from Timișoara through Vršac, Belgrade, Čačak, Požega, and Podgorica to Bar, and by sea, across the Adriatic, it will be connected to Bari in Italy. The construction of the E-763 Highway is carried out in accordance with the Strategy for the Development of Railway, Road, Water, Air, and Intermodal Transport in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2008 to 2015.

The section was officially opened for traffic in August 2019.

Project description: 

Obrenovac–Ub section, with a length of 26.23 km.

This section includes the construction of 14 bridges with a total length of 1.2 km, the Ub interchange, the relocation of 11 local roads, construction of 16 culverts and box culverts, 8 retaining walls, and the relocation and regulation of 17 existing river watercourses totaling 5.1 km in length. In addition to the aforementioned works, along the route of this highway section, 13 noise protection walls with a total length of 3.6 km and one rest area have been constructed. The section was opened to traffic on 18 August 2019.

Ub–Lajkovac, with a total length of 12.5 km.

The section is designed as a mountainous-valley variant. Along the route, the following have been constructed: 13 bridge structures with a total length of 2,100 meters, a traffic interchange near Lajkovac with access roads approximately 9 km long, a total of 11 watercourse regulations covering 5.5 km, 6 overpasses, 4 viaducts, and 15 noise protection walls totaling 1.8 km in length have been constructed along the route. The section was opened to traffic on 18 August 2019.

Lajkovac–Ljig section, with a length of 24 km.

This section includes the construction of 16 bridge structures, the Ljig interchange, and the “Brančići” tunnel with a total length of approximately 990 meters. Along the route, the relocation of 9 local roads, construction of 21 culverts and 50 slab culverts, and 8 retaining walls—incorporating approximately 4,000 m³ of concrete—have been completed. Additionally, the relocation and regulation of 16 existing river watercourses have been carried out along a large portion of the route. Besides the above, 9 noise protection walls totaling 1.9 km in length and one rest area have been constructed along this highway section.
