The significance of the project: 

The Line 1 metro project consists of the Makiš Depot and a route 21.3 km long with 21 stations and 13 evacuation and ventilation shafts. The Makiš Depot will manage Lines 1 and 2 of the Belgrade metro. It will serve for the parking of rolling stock for Lines 1 and 2 of the Belgrade metro, as well as for the maintenance of the entire future metro network, which will consist of three lines. Metro Line 1 will connect the currently most traffic-heavy parts of the city.

Status of the project: 

Contract start date: January 10, 2025 (Lot 1 and Lot 2 with Power China), January 12, 2025 (Makiš Depot with Power China). The signing of Lot 3 with Power China and the contract with Alstom is expected in the second quarter of 2025, which will complete the full contracting of Line 1 Phase 1. After the approval of the Preliminary Design for Line 1 Phase 2 by the Republic Revision Commission, the signing of the contract for Line 1 Phase 2 with Power China and Alstom is expected in the second half of 2025.

Investment value: 

-  210,000,000.00 euros excluding VAT- Design and construction of the Makiš Depot (Power China) – 20,340,000.00 euros excluding VATLot 1, Line 1, Phase 1: Design and execution of works, including preparatory activities for the procurement of the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) 20,000,000.00 euros excluding VAT Lot 2, Line 1, Phase 1 – Design and Construction Works (Power China). The values of the other contracts listed above will be determined following negotiations with the future Design & Build contractors, Power China and Alstom.
