The significance of the project: 

This project will contribute to improving the conditions and safety of navigation, which is of great importance for the Republic of Serbia, bearing in mind that in the classification of the main transport corridors of the EU, Danube is part of the Rhine-Danube Corridor and that 87% of the total volume of water transport is generated on the river Danube, and most of the transshipment is done in ports on the section between Backa Palanka and Belgrade. Removal of six critical sectors in Danube section between Belgrade and Backa Palanka, from km 1287 to km 1195. The main activities of the project include the construction of hydrotechnical structures and the dredging of the riverbed in accordance with the requirements of environmental protection.

Status of the project: 
In September 2018, works on the Danube sector near Futog started, and preparatory works are underway to start work on Danube sector near Cortanovci

9,3 million euros

Start of the project: 

Project started on 2.6.2017. by signing the contract for supervision and ecological monitoring of hydrotechnical and excavator operations in critical sectors on Danube, and then the Contract for the execution of hydrotechnical and excavator operations in critical sectors on Danube on 06.06.2017.

Completion of the project: 

November 2020
