The construction of the Belgrade bypass is of major importance as it alleviates transit traffic burden on the city center. The project integrates existing and new motorways, thereby linking the international corridors to and from Belgrade.
The period for remedying deficiencies is currently underway.

The total length of the subject section was 19.5km. Among the main structures located along the route, four tunnels stand out with a total length of 2,760 meters, 22 bridges (only one shorter than 50 meters) with a total length of 5,307 meters, two interchanges, and one junction. The section has been dived into 3 sectors, and in particular:
Sector 4, the section from the Ostružnica Bridge to the Orlovača interchange, 7 km long, for which the right side of the highway has been constructed within the first phase, along with earthworks on the left side. And within the second phase, the left side of the highway has been constructed, along with bridges 9, 10, and 11, as well as the Lipak and Železnik tunnels.
Sector 5, the section from the Orlovača interchange to the Straževica tunnel, 3 km long, for which the right side of the highway and earthworks on the left side were completed in the first phase, while in the second phase the left side, bridges 13, 14, and 15, as well as the left tunnel tube of the Straževica tunnel, were constructed.
Sector 6, the section from the Straževica tunnel to Bubanj Potok, 9.5 km long, has been constructed as a full-profile highway, including 16 bridges, the Beli Potok tunnel, the Avala interchange, and the Bubanj Potok junction.
