The significance of the project: 

The Ljig–Preljina section is not merely a part of the motorway but holds far greater significance as it ensures the continuation of the construction of Corridor 11, establishes a connection with Montenegro, and enables further extension of the motorway towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is crucial for the regional connectivity of Serbia, as well as for enhancing investment opportunities, and facilitating the regional flow of goods and people on a much larger scale.

The section was officially opened for traffic in November 2016.

Project description: 

The Ljig – Preljina section of the E-763 highway, 40.36 km in length, comprises three subsections:Donji Banjani – Boljkovci (10.72 km), Boljkovci – Takovo (12.57 km), and Takovo – Preljina (17.07 km).This mountainous-valley alignment includes numerous structures: four tunnels (Veliki Kik – 200 m; Savinac – 270 m/260 m; Šarani – 883.85 m/887.65 m; Brđani – 456.62 m/438.52 m), 68 bridge structures and overpasses with a total surface area of approximately 80,000 m², 41 regulated watercourses with partial riverbed rerouting over 21.338 km, 46 retaining walls totaling 6.089 km, and 28 noise protection walls with a total length of about 7.3 km.This section of the E-763 highway route has been designed as a mountainous-valley alignment. Two interchanges were built on this section:  Takovo and Preljina, as well as three rest areas.  The design documentation was prepared by the CIP Transportation Institute for the Takovo–Preljina section and by the Institute for Roads for the Ljig–Boljkovci and Boljkovci–Takovo sections. Under the loan agreement, the Azerbaijani company was the lead contractor, while domestic construction companies were engaged in the physical implementation of the project, accounting for a minimum of 49% of the total contracted value of the works.
