Establishing a connection between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and the wider region. The construction of the multi-lane IB-21 road from Novi Sad to Ruma will deliver economic, safety, environmental, and various other benefits, while also enhancing the quality of service for all traffic participants. Additionally, it will relieve congestion in the urban centers of Novi Sad, Ruma, and Fruška Gora.
Activities on the preparation of project documentation are currently underway. The expropriation process is being carried out on certain sections of the route. A construction permit for preparatory works has been obtained for part of Section 1 of the route, where these works have already commenced. Construction permits have been obtained for most parts of Sections 2 and 3, and work is currently underway on the construction of bridges and tunnels.

The project is financed with funds provided under the Loan Agreement between the Lender and the Government of the Republic of Serbia, amounting to 85% of the Accepted Contract Amount. The financier undertakes to provide funds from the budget of the Republic of Serbia to finance the Project in the amount of 15% of the Accepted Contract Amount.
The Fruška Gora Corridor is part of the road route Novi Sad – Ruma – Šabac – Loznica – border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. This route connects Serbia with Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the wider region, as well as linking Vojvodina with western Serbia. The Fruška Gora Corridor route is divided into four sections, with a total length of 47.7 km, featuring two major structures: one tunnel (7 km, with two tubes) and a bridge over the Danube River approximately 1,770 meters long.
