Imre Kern

He was born in 1949 in Backa Topola. He finished elementary and high school in Subotica. He graduated from the Belgrade Technological and Metallurgical Faculty in Belgrade in 1974.

He worked in the Chemical Industry "Zorka" in Subotica from 1974 to 1992. He was the bearer of the construction of a new artificial fertilizer plant. In the period from 1992 to 2002 he was the president of the Subotica Executive Board. Deputy Provincial Secretary for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development by the end of 2004. In the period from 2004 to 2007, he was the head of the project for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Subotica. From April 2007 to present day he is deputy director of the Capital Investment Fund of AP Vojvodina.

He was a member of the Municipal Assembly of Subotica from 1992 to 2008 and a Provincial MP in the period from 2000 to 2004. He is a member of the Association of Free Cities of Yugoslavia and then a member of SKGOJ. He was a member of the delegation of the FR of Yugoslavia in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe at the Council of Europe.

He is married and has two adult daughters from his first marriage.

Beside the mother tongue (Hungarian), he speaks Serbian and English.
